Morgo shines spotlight on Kiwis exporting innovation to the world

The annual Morgo conference in Waitangi is where leaders building global businesses from New Zealand come to connect, learn and share. The opportunity to mingle and share experiences with 150+ fellow entrepreneurs is always enticing, and although this was my third year attending, I was again inspired by the experiences of Kiwi companies who have achieved success abroad. A few stories in particular resonated with me as we strive to emulate their success on the world stage with AlphaCert. These businesses, like AlphaCert, share one thing in common: innovation.

At AlphaCert we’ve taken our extensive track record in the investment management sector and technical expertise, and developed a cloud-based service for the investment management industry. We have been fortunate to have Callaghan Innovation as a strong supporter since the beginning, sharing our vision to develop innovative IP in New Zealand that can serve the global market.

In our quest to grow AlphaCert, it’s inspiring to learn from other New Zealand technology companies who have navigated their way to success abroad.

Tim Norton, founder and CEO of 90 seconds, has developed a highly scalable cloud technology platform to produce videos anywhere in the world. The entire video production process from purchase to publish is done online through a global network of designers, project managers, and video editors. Much of the company’s global success can be attributed to the innovative software systems and business processes it has established, which can be easily adapted and rolled out into international markets.

Foster Moore is a global company specialising in implementing electronic registry solutions. Co-founder Joel Foster and his partner used their 20 years’ experience in registry design and development in New Zealand to develop a dedicated registry solution that can be adapted to meet the specific needs of individual jurisdictions around the world. The company is now running projects in New Zealand, South Pacific, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North America.

Morgo shines a spotlight on the innovation that New Zealand is bringing to the world. Listening to Kiwi entrepreneurs share their experiences of exporting their products, services and business models globally is always insightful.

Thanks to Jenny Morel and Morgo for another fantastic conference…looking forward to next year!
